Guest Policies
At Viking Bay Resort & Lodge, we strive to be a family friendly vacation destination that guests look forward to visiting year after year. To that end, we ask all of our guests to adhere to the following policies during their stay.
Cancellation Policy
When a reservation is placed, the guest accepts all financial responsibility for the entirety of the reservation. In the event of a cancellation, any unpaid balances will be charged upon notification. A return of your deposit is solely based on our ability to re-rent your unit or units for the duration of your reservation less a $100 re-booking fee.
Booking your Stay
We offer the convenience of online booking or you can call or email any time — we'd love to answer any questions you have about our property and help you plan your stay.
When using the online system, you can check as many rates, dates and accommodation combinations as you like — nothing is "booked" until you submit your credit card information and hit confirm, so plan away.
Loyal Customers
We give our loyal year-to-year guests the first opportunity to re-book their stay for the following year. Simply book your stay before you leave, and your spot will be reserved for the following year. If you do not book for the following year before you leave, those dates will become available for new customers.*
Check in/Check out
Summer Weekly rentals run from Saturday to Saturday.
- Check in is from 4-7pm.
- Check out is 9am or earlier.
- If you will be arriving later than 7pm, please notify us. No check-ins are allowed after 10PM.
- Call for off-season check in/out times.
Extra Guests
A $35 fee per guest per night will be applied towards your stay for exceeding the rated occupancy of your room or cabin. See cabin/room descriptions. All guests must register at the front desk.
Children of all ages count as guests, including babies.
Visitor Policy
We no longer allow visitors on the property of Viking Bay Resort & Lodge. Guests are restricted to the members that they have registered at the time of booking and must not exceed their rated occupancy. We take pride in being a quiet family friendly resort.
Boat Policy
All guests must rent a boat lift for dock space. Tying to our dock system is not allowed. If you choose not to rent a lift, you must load and unload your boat and park your boat & trailer in the designated parking area. Boats are not allowed to be towed near our lodge building or cabins as there is not enough room to do so. We cannot guarantee boat lift availability. Please call before placing a reservation to confirm dock space.
Housekeeping Policy
All cabins and lodge suites are considered housekeeping units. Guests are responsible for vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning dishes, and emptying their trash and recycling in the proper receptacles. Units needing excessive cleaning will be subject to an additional clean-up fee at our discretion.
Pets
Pets are not allowed at Viking Bay Resort & Lodge. There are several options for pet boarding in Alexandria.
Deposits
Week stays require a 50% deposit. All other stays must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Bookings for the following year- After a $100 deposit is made per room/cabin we will automatically process the following payments- 30% of your stay will be due by November 1st and then another 30% by February 1st.
